The new 2020 year seems to be starting off right in the beauty industry with some exciting news that was just announced this week.
Skincare giant Olay announced the release of its new line of bodywash products and they have partnered with Actress, Singer, TV personality, Ke Ke Palmer as the spokesperson.

Palmer shared her excitement with a statement released to Essence magazine.
“This year-long partnership with Olay Body means so much to me because for a long time, women like me weren’t represented in the beauty industry, and representation is so important,” Palmer told ESSENCE. “We are beautiful, confident and fearless—all the things that Olay Body represents.”
Not only is it exciting that Olay has released a new body line, the fact that they have partnered with Keke is another example of representation, specifically for women of color.
Although Keke is not the first woman of color to work with the line, she is one of the few breaking barriers along side Olays first Latinx Trans actress spokesperson, MJ Rodgriguez, Model/blogger Mama Cax just to name a few.
Most mainstream brands have lacked the type of diversity that represents a huge audience who make up most of their dollars.
According to reports, black women make up nearly $465 million alone on skincare.
The new products from their ‘Body Lab’ line is expected to be a hit as the new line contains hyaluronic acid, vitamin-E and collagen.
It also claims that their new products are so ‘moisturizing’ that you will not have to apply lotion after you step out the shower.
Imagine that.
