It goes without saying that if you want healthy clear skin consistently, as we age adding a monthly facial to our regimen can help.
Most of my peers ask me what facial would I recommend for ‘newbies’ or those wanting something less evasive but still has immediate results.
As an Esthetician, and someone who gets facials regularly I am more than happy to give my input.
Even prior to becoming a Licensed Esthetician, I have been getting facials regularly for the past 5 years.
If your skin is sensitive, I recommend a basic facial or Deep Cleansing Facial.
What is the difference between a ‘Basic’ Facial treatment and Deep Cleansing Treatment?
A basic facial consists of cleansing the skin thoroughly, steaming, light exfoliation and moisturizer. This process typically involves the esthetician customizing products tailored to your skin type. (A good Esthetician understands and knows this).
Deep Cleansing Facial:
This facial takes the ‘Basic’ facial up 2 notches. Involving a ‘double’ cleansing with products that target specific skincare needs and concerns, steaming, extraction, exfoliation and moisturizer. The process is more detailed and takes a little longer.
I performed a ‘Deep Cleansing’ Facial on a client and her results were immediate!
Because she already had nice skin, a fairly smooth texture, she had a very oily T-Zone and some dryness.
We did a deep cleansing facial, extractions, detox mask and a moisturizing cream ask and topped off with an oil free SPF.
Her results were immediate and pretty impressive.
Immediate after care is no touching face, no cleansing until the next morning using a mild cleanser. To maintain results she must double cleanse, us an oil free SPF, light exfoliator and toner.
